Location: Toronto

Story: This building is called the Armoury. It is located right beside one of the main courthouses in Toronto. I am not sure what is in the building. The name would suggest explosives. The design is interesting since there is an opening beneath the building which would, I think, make slightly dangerous to keep any explosives in its structure.

I am constantly attracted by depth, straight lines defining something in the middle, negative space as it is sometimes called. This is not exception. The design of the building creates the negative space. This is accentuated by the fountains creating almost perfect symmetry.

Location: Broadview Avenue, south of Gerrard

Story: This picture was taken in the courtyard at a Salvation Army outlet. It looked desolate and hardly inviting. Not surprisingly, no one was sitting on it. The centre is up for demolition at the moment. The bench has been removed.

One of my most favourite pictures of all time. At least from my library.

This is a picture of Carys, my niece, playing across the street from our house in the school yard. She was running around, up ladders, down chutes and slides, around stairs, through the tunnels. All the time trying to run away from my grabbing paws, squealing away.

She found safe haven in one of the tubes. I could not climb in after her. She hid in there peeking out occasionally to make sure I was not chasing her. It took a while to take this picture. She was playing peek-a-boo with me.
