Story: You get two pictures today, the first is the door, the second the inscription above the door. The hotel is long gone. There is a plaque in the wall beside this door that refers you to http://cribier.net/Hotel-Raoul/ for more information on the door. The article is in French.

It is not clear why the door has been almost preserved. It seems to have survived in spite of the neglect imposed upon it. A magnificent door it is. The buildings it hides date from the 1500's to the 1800's. I am also not sure why it is called an hotel, since it appears to have never fulfilled that role.

Story: Not much to tell. Went for a walk while Janet was giving some sort of a speech. The view beckoned a picture. Almost a cliche.

Story: I have never been very fond of Paris. I have been there many times. I t always rains when I am there. This trip was no exception. It rained every single day. I somehow, managed to take a lot of pictures. We will spend the next few weeks in Paris.

This picture was taken in the gardens of the Rodin Gallery. I loved the gardens and could have spent a lot more time there. Simple benches that have little reason for being there. Yet here they are strewn about the yard. No one appeared to take advantage of them. I wonder if we all thought they would fall apart if we sat on them.

Story: We were having a couple of drinks in the meat packing district. The district is going through a massive renovation and scaling up to the upper classes of society. Not sure why we were admitted. The restaurant was located on top of one of the building. This was one of the views. I was fascinated by the rooftops with so many plants of them. Just did not seem like our image of New York.

Story: Not much to tell. At the foot of the Rambla stood this building, a youth hostel of sorts. Busy place in spite of the disrepair. I did not go inside to see what state the building was in. Barcelona renovates a lot of the old building, maintaining the facade, while erecting an new inside. An technique that has been perfected in Montreal.
